Intergrated Development - Plan

The Integrated Development Plan (IDP) is a five-year plan which local government is required to compile to determine the development needs of the municipality. The projects within the IDP are also linked to the municipality’s budget.

The municipality operates in a constantly changing environment and the IDP is reviewed annually to make sure it stays abreast with the latest changes. It does not only determine the status of the identified projects for the previous year, but also whether the remaining projects are still relevant and a priority.

The review process incorporates public participation, which gives residents an opportunity to highlight and prioritise their development needs. Residents are encouraged to participate in IDP meetings and be heard. They can also communicate via their Ward Committees and Ward Councillors.
