A Cleaner Matjhabeng, One Street at a Time!
There was no stopping the good vibes as the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Thanduxolo Khalipha, Acting Municipal Manager Mr.
Thabo Panyani, and MMC for Community Services and Public Safety, Cllr. Tlake Khoarai, hit the streets for a cheerful
round of site visits!
With sleeves rolled up and smiles all around, they joined the dedicated teams from Community Services and the Parks and
Recreation Unit, who are hard at work keeping our neighbourhoods neat and streets free from overgrown grass.
This is local government in action, responsive, hands on, and always committed to creating cleaner, safer, and greener
spaces for our communities.

MEDIA STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Matjhabeng Local Municipality Condemns Theft of Paving Blocks from Mmamahabane Cemetery.
Matjhabeng Local Municipality Condemns Theft of Paving Blocks from Mmamahabane Cemetery
The Matjhabeng Local Municipality strongly condemns the recent acts of vandalism and theft in Ventersburg, where
individuals unlawfully removed municipal paving blocks from the Mmamahabane Cemetery and used them on private
properties....
This disgraceful behaviour not only undermines the dignity of our public spaces, particularly sacred sites such as
cemeteries, but also constitutes a criminal offence.
Such actions reflect a gross disregard for community resources and the shared responsibility we all have in preserving
public infrastructure.
The Municipality confirms that a case has been formally opened by the Municipal Law Enforcement Unit, and the matter is
now under police investigation. Perpetrators will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The Municipality appeals to the residents of Ventersburg and all surrounding areas to refrain from engaging in any
unlawful conduct and to report any suspicious activity to the Municipal Law Enforcement or the South African Police
Service (SAPS).
Theft of public property is not only illegal but diverts limited municipal resources away from service delivery and
development.
We remain committed to ensuring that all municipal property is protected, and we urge our communities to work with us in
fostering a culture of accountability and respect for public infrastructure.
