As part of the Ministerial Intervention Programme, significant sewer projects are currently underway across Matjhabeng,
including in Kutlwanong.
These projects involve the replacement of old sewer network lines with durable PVC pipes, as well as the refurbishment
of wastewater treatment plants and pump stations to improve service delivery and environmental management.
...
In addition to these long-term upgrades, teams from the Municipality’s Infrastructure Department (Wastewater Management
Section ) are on the ground in Kutlwanong, Block 2, attending to sewer spillages and blockages to restore proper flow
and prevent health hazards.
The Municipality urges residents to play their part in protecting sewer infrastructure by refraining from flushing
foreign materials down toilets or sinks, and by avoiding the dumping of foreign objects into sewer manholes. Such
actions lead to blockages, costly repairs, and potential environmental contamination.

The Matjhabeng Local Municipality’s Waste Management Division is carrying out a clean-up operation in Ward 21,
Kutlwanong, targeting illegal dumping sites that pose serious health and environmental risks to the community.
This operation forms part of the Mayoral Cleaning Campaign, which is dedicated to promoting cleaner, safer, and
healthier neighbourhoods....
Illegal dumping not only degrades the environment but also attracts pests, blocks stormwater drainage systems, and
increases the risk of disease outbreaks.
Residents are urged to refrain from illegal dumping and to use the waste removal services provided according to the
official collection schedule. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener Matjhabeng for all.
