Public Works and Infrastructure MEC Dibolelo Mance delivered a message of support at the Two-Day Matjhabeng Local Municipality Strategic Planning Session, highlighting key departmental interventions to address municipal challenges and drive sustainable development.

She emphasised the importance of financial stability, with efforts to ensure the municipality’s current account is up to date. To tackle unemployment, 100 EPWP participants, including 20 from the Contractor Development Programme (CDP), will be recruited and trained....

Additionally, two state houses have been identified for community benefit, one of which will be donated to an NGO supporting Gender-Based Violence (GBV) victims, providing a safe shelter.

To strengthen municipal infrastructure, CDP participants will assist in maintaining municipal buildings, with the Department providing training, while the Municipality will be responsible for procuring the necessary materials.

Honoring the district’s top-performing learners and educators

Acting Executive Mayor of Matjhabeng, Cllr. Hlobohang Mokhomo, joined MEC for Social Development, Hon. Mathabo Leeto, and Lejweleputswa District Mayor, Cllr. Veronica Ntakumbana, at the Career Development Services Expo held at Kopano Indoor Sport Centre, hosted by the Free State Office of the Premier.

Addressing attendees, Cllr. Mokhomo stressed the importance of education, skills development, and career guidance in unlocking opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He encouraged young people to engage, ask questions, and seize opportunities to build a brighter future.

The expo brought together key partners, including Harmony, Lejweleputswa District Education, Goldfields TVET College, Da Vinci Institute, and Mirae Robotics, all committed to equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed for success....

Today, Acting Executive Mayor of Matjhabeng, Cllr. Hlobohang Mokhomo, joined Free State MEC for Education, Dr. Maboya, and Lejweleputswa District Education Director, P.P. Zonke, in honoring the district’s top-performing learners and educators.

In his address, Cllr. Mokhomo emphasised that education is the key to progress and a prosperous society. He commended the dedication of learners, the commitment of educators, and the unwavering support of parents in shaping a brighter future for the youth.

Under the theme “A Better Future for Lejweleputswa’s Learners,” he highlighted the shared responsibility to equip young minds with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. He reaffirmed Matjhabeng Municipality’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality education and skills development....

“To the learners, congratulations! Your hard work and perseverance have brought you to this moment. To our educators and parents—your role in this success is invaluable.
